Maria L. Beck, DVM, a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and her husband, Doug Mead, bought Ravenna Veterinary Clinic in December of 1993. Since they bought the clinic, the have made some huge investments that help them to accurately diagnose and assist your livestock. This includes the addition of a hydraulic chute and a scale that weights individual animals. This means that they can more accurately dose medications. They have also added in a chute for working on horses and performing c-sections. These additions allow them to help producers with their livestock health needs. They also have portable chutes and an Ok Corral to assist producers at their farms. This means that working cattle can be done on farm with a farm visit instead of taking the cattle to the clinic.

Doug Mead is the jack of all trades around the clinic and is often found assisting producers with pasture checking cattle and pasture doctoring when needed. He also does day work for area producers, including checking fences, moving cattle and other needs. He does his work primarily on horseback to reduce the stress on cattle. He is also a master as catching hard to catch animals. Doug is the cowboy you want by your side when working cattle, he is smooth, calm and hardworking with a mind on the overall health of the cattle.
